Drive-over in-ground luminaires

For installation in ground surfaces · Location luminaires


An extensive and efficient series of LED in-ground luminaires for use both indoors and out. The entire luminaire housings are made of stainless steel. Depending on the installation situation, the luminaires can be installed using installation housings, or simply “floating”, for example in gravel, lawn surfaces, flowerbeds or in paved surfaces.

The luminaires can be driven over by vehicles with pneumatic tyres. The luminaires must not be used in areas where they are exposed to horizontal loads caused by braking, accelerating and changes of direction.

Please note:
The operating temperatures T specified in the table (according to EN 60598, ambient temperature ta 15 °C) are reached in the centre of the glass surface.

When the glass is wet, there may be a risk of slipping. For walkable public areas, we recommend skid-blocking glass in accordance with DIN 51130  R 13. With the additional specification R after the article number, we can supply all luminaires with skid-blocking glass. This increases the dispersion of the light distribution.

On request, the luminaires are available in the light colours green, blue, amber and red.

The luminaire luminous flux and the luminaire connected wattage quoted in the table might change as a result of technical progress. On our website you will find data sheets with information on each luminaire concerning not only the current values but also the LED service life and the luminous flux in relation to the respective colour temperature.

Planning examples

On the basis of our empirical values and the suggestions of architects and planners, we have compiled room situations for which lighting design is frequently required. In the following, we shall present possible illumination solutions for these architectural situations. It goes without saying that all technical lighting standards are complied with. In some cases, the degree of illuminance proposed by us may even exceed the standard. For us, the aesthetics of light and a high level of visual comfort are important criteria for such decisions. At the same time, the form and the size of the luminaires must fit into the architectural surroundings. For example, we often recommend larger models if a structure has large dimensions – even if smaller luminaires with lower output would be enough. In such cases, the degree of illuminance can be reduced to a suitable level by means of a light control system.


Advertising space

The illumination of advertising spaces repeatedly presents new challenges. A change in motif from a very light to a dark motif, or vice versa, requires an adjustment of the degree of illuminance for the advertising to be effective. Commercial building entrance

The covered area in front of a commercial building is illuminated from a great height with efficient downlights. The focus is placed on the square pillars supporting the roof using very narrow beam in-ground floodlights on the front side. Electrical safety

The luminaires in this catalogue are designed and produced on the basis of the EN 60598/VDE 0711 standards. The majority of the luminaires bear the relevant test mark on the type plate as well as on the packaging and instructions for use. The other luminaires have been or will be submitted for certification, but the certification and approval procedure is still in progress. We can provide information on the status of the certification procedure at any time. Special orders are produced in accordance with the above set of regulations.
