The buffer amplifier allows the separation of data lines and prevents accidental energisation in distribution networks.It prevents the triggering of an RCD due to data current. In large systems, many thousands of metres of lines can be generated with the buffer amplifier.
In distribution networks with several RCDs, each RCD must be equipped with its own buffer amplifier in order to separate the data line. The buffer amplifiers are connected to each other via a 2-core shielded line, whereby no more than a total of 15 buffer amplifiers can be connected. If buffer amplifiers are used in several distribution networks, the connection of the nodes is effected by means of segment couplers (LCN-LLG or LCN-LLK).
