The buffer amplifier allows the separation of data lines and prevents accidental energisation in distribution networks. It prevents the triggering of an RCD due to data current.
In distribution networks with several RCDs, each RCD must be equipped with its own LCN buffer amplifier in order to separate the data line. The LCN buffer amplifiers are connected to each other via a 2-core shielded line, whereby no more than a total of 15 LCN buffer amplifiers can be connected. If buffer amplifiers are used in several distribution networks, the connection of the nodes is effected by means of segment couplers (LCN-LLG or LCN-LLK).
