LED light building elements

Unshielded light distribution

Light building elements are luminous design elements for public areas. They are particularly suitable for dividing and structuring outdoor spaces. They can be used to guide or lead people and vehicles. Their attention-drawing power is considerably greater than that of pole-top luminaires. Light building elements can be used to serve the architectonic structure or to highlight it spectacularly.

Luminaires with translucent white synthetic cover create an unshielded, symmetrical light distribution with pleasant visual comfort.

The luminaire luminous flux and the luminaire connected wattage quoted in the table might change as a result of technical progress. On our website you will find data sheets with information on each luminaire concerning not only the current values but also the LED service life and the luminous flux in relation to the respective colour temperature.

Planning examples

On the basis of our empirical values and the suggestions of architects and planners, we have compiled room situations for which lighting design is frequently required. In the following, we shall present possible illumination solutions for these architectural situations. It goes without saying that all technical lighting standards are complied with. In some cases, the degree of illuminance proposed by us may even exceed the standard. For us, the aesthetics of light and a high level of visual comfort are important criteria for such decisions. At the same time, the form and the size of the luminaires must fit into the architectural surroundings. For example, we often recommend larger models if a structure has large dimensions – even if smaller luminaires with lower output would be enough. In such cases, the degree of illuminance can be reduced to a suitable level by means of a light control system.

Inner city square

Water features form the central point of an inner city square. The illumination is effected by in-ground luminaires, whose light places a spectacular focus on the water features. The square is lined by shops, cafés and restaurants, and is thus a lively place during the day and at night. At night, floral LED light building elements provide pleasant light and give the square a structure. Their soft...

Pedestrian bridge

There are many options for illuminating pedestrian bridges. Two completely different approaches are shown here. The bridge measures 20 x 2.4 m. The illumination standard DIN EN 13 201 for pedestrian walkways and cycle paths applies here. The average degree of illuminance required is 5 lx, and the minimum value is 1 lx. Pedestrians and cyclists should feel safe and therefore comfortable on the...

BEGA AR

BEGA AR is pleased to help you assess our luminaires in your own private setting. In a virtual presentation you can place up to five different luminaires simultaneously in any positions you like: in the house, around the house or in the garden. You can then view them from all angles, switching them on and off and even taking photos ofthe various scenes.

Electrical safety

The luminaires in this catalogue are designed and produced on the basis of the EN 60598/VDE 0711 standards. The majority of the luminaires bear the relevant test mark on the type plate as well as on the packaging and instructions for use. The other luminaires have been or will be submitted for certification, but the certification and approval procedure is still in progress. We can provide information on the status of the certification procedure at any time. Special orders are produced in accordance with the above set of regulations.
